HOW I CONQUERED EXCESS SLEEP

I KNEW IF I HAD TO GO ANYWHERE AND IF I WANTED TO BE SOMEBODY IN LIFE THEN I HAD TO ''WAKE-UP' AND PAY ATTENTION
MENTALLY, PSYCHOLOGICALLY, SPIRITUALLY AND ABOVE ALL PHYSICALLY.
BUT WHAT DO I EXPECT TO MAKE WITH MY LIFE WHEN I LITERALLY SLEEP 24HOURS A DAY, 7DAYS A WEEK INFACT ALL YEAR ROUND AND ALWAYS DAY- DREAMING OF A BRIGHT FUTURE.
THANK GOD FOR THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO DREW MY ATTENTION TO THE FACT THAT ''SLEEP'' IS BUT THE GIANT- DEMON I HAD TO CONQUER TO MAKE PROGRESS.
DON'T GET ME WRONG PLEASE, NOT THAT AM AGAINST ''SLEEP'' BUT EXCESS ''SLEEP''.
SO THE BATTLE AGAINST SLEEP STARTED WITH A STRONG DESIRE TO BE FREE FROM A SLAVE MASTER. WHICH LASTED FOR A LONG WHILE, WHILE I SUB-CONSCIENCELY THOUGHT OUT A WAY TO PHYSICALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY DEFEAT IT.
NOW AM GOING TO BE AS BLUNT AS I CAN BE,THERE TWO MAJOR REASONS WHY ONE CAN OVER SLEEP,ITS EITHER AS A RESULT OF MEDICAL CONDITION OR LAZINESS (PLAIN AND SIMPLE). SINCE IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT MINE WAS NOT A MEDICAL ISSUE I JUST HAD TO DISCIPLINE MYSELF.
             STEPS I TOOK TO SAY GOODBYE TO EXCESS SLEEP
  •       ALLOCATING TIME TO SLEEP : NO DOUBT I LOVE TO CAREFULLY PLACE MY BODY ON A COMFORTABLE SOFT BED TO SLEEP, SO INSTEAD OF GOING TO BED AT ANYTIME WHICH IS USUALLY AT ODD HOURS, I HAVE A BED TIME-9:00PM AND A WAKE UP TIM-5:00AM.JUST LIKE THE SAYING GOES;EARLY TO BED AND EARLY TO RISE.


  •          ALARM CLOCK: SOMETIMES WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF I WISH IT WAS A HUMAN BEING SO THAT I WOULD BEAT THE HELL OUT OF IT,I MEAN WHAT PERFECT WORD CAN DESCRIBE THE ANNOYING AND SLEEP-INTERUPTING SOUND ONE WAKES UP TO IN THE MORNING.(EYES ROLLING) MOST EFFECTIVE WHEN THE CLOCK IS FAR AWAY FROM YOU.
  •              PLANNING MY DAY A NIGHT BEFORE: ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I DIDN’T FEEL THE NEED TO WAKE UP EARLY IS BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A 5-9 PAYING JOB,BUT AM AN ENTREPRENEUR,I HAVE A LIFE AND A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD. EVERY NIGHT BEFORE GOING TO BED I PICK UP MY TO-DO LIST, WRITE A NUMBER OF ACTIVITIES WHICH I CARRY OUT THE NEXT DAY. THIS GIVE ME AN INSIGHT TO MY DAY AND A MAJOR REASON WHY I FEEL THE NEED TO WAKE UP EARLY.
IN CONCLUSION, AM SHARING THIS POST OF HOW I TOOK OVER THE CONTROL FROM SOMETHING THE CONTROLLED ME FOR A VERY LONG TIME, IT WAS MORE LIKE AN ADDICTION,AND THE REASON THAT FALSELY JUSTIFY THE ACTION WAS BECAUSE I DIN'T HAVE A 5-9 JOB BUT AM GLAD I ALSO GAVE IT MY REASONS FOR WINNING THE BATTLE BEING THAT I HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD OF ME AND A LIFE TO LIVE WHICH I MUST LIVE WELL.
YOUR ADDITION MIGHT NOT BE SLEEP, IT COULD BE EATING, MASTURBATION, SMOKING, DRUGS, SEX, etc., TRUST ME, YOU HAVE MORE POWER THAT IT DOES.
ALL YOU NEED DO TO OVERCOME IS DESIRE TO WIN AND HAVE A PLAN BACKED UP BY ACTION.
